Uploader Notes	This is a self extracting file. It contains XP, Win2K, and Mac versions of the driver for Micro Innovations USB-to-Serial adapter (Model # USB610A). I got these files from the installation CD that came with the device, but they are newer than the ones provided on the Micro Innovations web site. The driver provider is actually listed as Prolific. There is no setup utility so you have to use Windows' driver update procedures to install this driver. The drvremover.exe utility is used to remove the driver. (The file available on the Micro Innovations web site actually only contains Win98_ME and Win2K versions of the driver. The Win2K version can cause BSODs when used on XP. This version of the XP driver seems to work well.)

Micro Innovations Usb To Serial Drivers

What are you trying to connect to you laptop ?
I have a similar problem using Bootcamp / Parallels in that I want to drive a satellite meter so I can upload the satellite data to the meter, I have to do this in windows as the loader is only available for that.
However I had to give up in the end as it looks like the USB/Serial adapter can only work with USB 1.
I can see the com port it creates & it starts to connect but then falls over with data failure on acknowledge, bit of a pain, had to find a friend with a USB 1 on an old PC to do upload.
